Dr. Hofman has been interested in agricultural issues all her life. Raised in an agricultural region in Bahia, Brazil, she began her university studies at age 17, studying biology at the University of Missouri. There she was exposed to numerous research opportunities with plants and insects that led her to pursue her M.S. and Ph.D. in Entomology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
She later joined the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service in Byron, GA, as a postdoctoral research associate. Camila has worked with multiple pests and diseases that affect agricultural systems in the U.S.
In her role at TechAccel, she applies her expertise in biopesticides and insect pathology to advance RNAissance Ag’s biopesticide pipeline.
