Ligia Patricia Calderon joined RNAissance Ag in March 2024 as part of the Biomanufacturing team, applying her experience in mycology and molecular biology.

Calderon is a Biotechnology Engineer graduate from University Francisco de Paula Santander, in Colombia, where she developed skills in Biology, Microbiology and Genetics.

She joined Oklahoma State University in 2016 with an internship to research fungi populations used as a biocontrol against cutworms as well as genetic populations of oomycetes using molecular markers, receiving her Bachelor’s degree in 2017.

In 2019, she pursued a Master's degree in Entomology and Plant Pathology at Oklahoma State University. In this role, she researched fungal populations in grapevines and assessed fungicide resistance. After receiving her Master's degree in 2021, she joined the Montana State University as a research associate in an emergent plant biology laboratory.

She moved to Missouri in 2022. Prior to joining RNAissance Ag, she worked at Bayer Crop Science as a Plant Diagnostician Expert and Molecular Biologist, working in plant disease identification and molecular screening.
