Mike Rausch joined the RNAissance Ag team in January 2025.

His passion for entomology began as an undergraduate, where he identified insect samples to the family level for biodiversity monitoring in Iowa's tallgrass prairies. This led to an internship with the USDA, where he studied the European corn borer (Ostrinia nubilalis) and its relationship with transgenic crops, ultimately inspiring his Master's degree in entomology. 

Exposure to molecular biology techniques during this time sparked his interest in working with entities beyond direct observation. To deepen his expertise, Mike pursued a second master's degree in microbiology, focusing on modifying Cry toxins to target non-susceptible insects.

With eight years of experience in agricultural technology development, Mike brings a deep passion for science and a commitment to continuous learning to the RNAissance Ag team.
