Mike Rohlfsen brings deep international agribusiness experience, including 18 years with Cargill Inc. in a variety of financial, strategic marketing, product and business development positions. Most recently, he founded and led Somaris Global, a Minneapolis-based business development firm working in next generation ag technology.
Mike has experience directing agricultural strategies in companies ranging from multinational corporations to start-ups. He has practical experience in managing research and development, venture funding and business development. His career has consistently focused on applying new technology, spanning aquaculture, organic food supply chains and sustainable biomass product development among other areas.
Prior to starting Somaris Global, Mike was director of business development at Pipeline Foods, a global supply chain firm working in organic and non-GMO food, feed and fertilizer. Earlier he founded Signal Biologics, an algae-based production technology company for organic, agricultural biologic applications. His past business development positions include work with Heliae, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Parabel, of Melbourne, Fla.
Prior to those positions, Mike spent 18 years with Cargill Inc. in a multifaceted career spanning agricultural and industrial commodity trading, corporate strategy and M&A, business and geographic development, and renewable energy work across three continents.
